Born and raised in Richmond Heights, of Miami, FL, Tené received her degree in Theater from Florida A&M University. She later ventured to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., where she worked with the Performance Plus and the Performing Arts Centers and Schools programs. While in D.C., she graced the stages in productions of, What About Eve?, Measure for Measure and Romeo and Juliet. She was also seen in the short film, 5 Lines, and was featured in the HBO hit, The Corner.

Continuing on her acting journey, she joined Shakespeare and Company where she was seen in productions of The Winter’s Tale, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, Coriolanus, and A View Beyond.

From Shakespeare and Company, she ventured to Los Angeles, and has been seen in the Town Street Theater productions of Start of Conversations and Summers in Suffolk. She was also seen in West Coast Ensembles’, To Kill a Mockingbird. Other notable productions include, Hold on to Your Dream, with JeazLou Productions and A Providential Occurrence. She was also in the NAACP Theater Award nominated, For the Love of Freedom, Christophe and was apart of the award winning cast of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, winner of 2 LA Ovation Awards and 2 NAACP Theater Awards. Her most recent play is August Wilson’s, Gem of the Ocean, directed by Ben Bradley, at The Fountain Theater where she is playing Black Mary.

Tené can be seen in the films, The Last Kennedy (Palette Films), and The Initiation (Moonlight Films). She was also seen on the Lifetime television show, Strong Medicine, and was featured in the film, Dreamgirls. Her latest film, Homeless Destiny, was last seen at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and The Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. For more information on her latest film, check out:
